Jen Perena and Nancy Anne Holowka will give a presentation entitled “The Hand Colored Kallitype Print: An Alternate Photographic Process” after the club’s 6:30 PM business meeting.

Holowka and Perena create prints that bridge the centuries by merging traditional Kallitype printing methods, contemporary 21st century digital imaging technology and watercolor painting. They will describe this fascinating historical process, discuss the inspirations for their work and show their rich tonal hand-colored prints from recent exhibitions.

Presented by Sally Steinwachs - "Watercolor Painting on Various Types of Paper & Use of Watercolor Ground"
Please bring an apron, a couple of old rags, your favorite paint brushes, a container for water, a spray bottle if you have one, and white plates or small bowls. You will be working alongside her. Paints, paper and a supply of brushes, and plates for use as a palette will be provided. Sally will bring a still-life set up, tubes of Daniel Smith watercolor paints and a few different kinds of paper with which to experiment. She plans to put watercolor ground on some surfaces ahead of time so it can dry and you can use it as another surface on which to experiment. She encourages you to use the watercolor ground that day and paint at home (it takes a while to dry). What We Do

Our main meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 6:30 P.M. to 9 P.M. (September to May) at the Irondequoit Public Library, Room # 115, which is located at 1290 Titus Avenue, Rochester, NY 14617 (next to the Irondequoit Town Hall). This location is accessible to all. Following a short business meeting is a demonstration by a professional artist. These presentations are open to the public with no admission fees, and cover a wide range of art forms - painting, sculpture, printmaking, etc. They are fun as well as educational.
We also hold meetings usually on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM, also at the Irondequoit Library. IAC member present a wide variety of techniques. Important - If you wish to attend, please phone the library ahead of time to register, 585-336-6060.
There are 2 major shows each year:
Other activities, designed to encourage members to expand and grow, include workshops, sketch-outs, picnic, and various community exhibits, such as the Art Walk at Irondequoit Town Hall, and shows in the Imaginarium, at I-Square.

- A Spring Show & Sale at which awards are presented to members’ works deemed noteworthy by judges who are professional artists. Awards are also given to promising high school art students selected from each of the Irondequoit High Schools.
- A Fall Arts & Crafts Show & Sale where fine art is exhibited, as well as an array of craft items made by members.
