Barbara Petro
For Barbara Petro, childhood drawing and painting were her great loves. In her earlier days, she particularly loved flamingos and llamas. Once she graduated from college and started working, however, she completely stopped painting for over 30 years. A wrist injury that occurred in 1998 left her thinking that she would never paint again.
About 8 years ago, she attended the Irondequoit Art Club’s Annual Spring Art Show at the West Irondequoit Library. Barb was so inspired by what she saw that she again fell in love with making art. Ever since she officially joined the Irondequoit Art Club, Barb has enjoyed improving her skills while attending the numerous workshops, meetings and learning from her fellow members. She held office as the club Treasurer for several years. More recently, Barb learned how to produce prints and cards from her paintings and enjoys producing these items. Her preferred media are acrylics and watercolors. She can be reached at 585-288-4516 or at [email protected].
