Alice Styles
As a child, Alice liked to use pencils, crayons and chalk. She had two years of art classes in high school. Art turned out to be her favorite subject. After public school, many years passed when she did no art work. In the early 90s, she took several courses in watercolor painting at the Creative Workshop of the Memorial Art Gallery. She also took Sumi-e classes.
Her attendance at the 2011 Irondequoit Art Club (IAC) Spring Show prompted her to join the club. She paints landscapes and small still life paintings using transparent watercolors. At the 2013 IAC Spring Show, Alice received a Merit Award. She likes to do paintings for her family and friends as well as display through IAC. “Painting is a wonderful and enjoyable hobby.”
