Here is a sample of art pieces from this year's show...Best of Show, Juror & Merit Awards will be presented to those pieces deemed noteworthy by professional artist judges. This year’s judges are Kaitlin Roney and Lisa Cook. Artist awards will be presented during the Opening Reception on Saturday, May 9 from 2 to 5 PM.
As in previous years, there will be a “Meet the Artists Day” on Saturday, May 16, beginning at 1 PM. Several artists will speak for up to 10 minutes about their entries and answer questions. This will be a unique opportunity to gain insights into the artist’s process in terms of inspiration, artistic journey, background, and techniques. There will be a Popular Vote Award determined by art show visitors who will have the opportunity to cast ballots during the run of the show. The winners will be determined after the show’s end.
Kaitlin Roney is a visual artist, art educator and co-founder of Art Center of Rochester. Mural Painting is one of Kaitlin’s specialties. She is an experienced muralist with over 20 years of experience. She has painted several dozen public and private murals in the Rochester area. Her most recent/notable pubic exterior mural installations include Habitat for Humanity, Shamrock Jacks and Seabreeze Bowl. Kaitlin specializes in organic imagery, animals and portraits. Kaitlin’s work reflects her humanitarian vision and captures the emotional integrity of her subjects.
Lisa Cook grew up in Pennsylvania and earned her B.S in Studio Art with a concentration in Ceramics and Women's Studies at Nazareth University in Rochester in 1988. Lisa has served as President of Camera Rochester from 2018 to the present. Her artwork frequently appears in local galleries. Solo shows include, The Coffee Connection Gallery, and most recently, The Windsor Gallery in Rochester. Lisa’s work concentrates on black and white digital photography. She is fascinated by the way design and structure can delight and pull an image out of the ordinary, giving it new and multiple meanings to share with viewers. 2025 Spring Show "Meet the Artists" |
