Highlights from 62nd Show and SaleBest of Show, Juror & Merit Awards will be presented to those pieces deemed noteworthy by professional artist judges.
This year’s judges are Bill White and Jean K. Stephens. White is a Professor Emeritus of Painting and Drawing at Hollins University in Roanoke. He moved to Caledonia, New York with his wife Linda where they opened the Village Gallery on Main Street in 2016. Stephens, a Rochester native, received her BFA and Master degrees from RIT. A love of organic form and a spiritual connection to nature is at the heart of her art, which includes oil and encaustic painting, graphite and colored pencil drawing and mixed media. Artist awards will be presented during the Opening Reception on Sunday, May 7 from 2 to 4 PM. As in previous years, there will be a “Meet the Artists Day” on Saturday, May 13, beginning at 1 PM. Several artists will speak for up to 10 minutes about their entries and answer questions. This will be a unique opportunity to gain insights into the artist’s process in terms of inspiration, artistic journey, background, and techniques. |
